how to register
On the registration from you will be able to
- select your registration category
- buy additional services like tickets for the Networking Evening and Networking Activities, and
- pay your registration online or request an invoice.
Once you have submitted your registration, you will receive an automatic e-mail confirming that your registration process was successfully completed. To avoid spam, please validate the Symposium Secretariat e-mail address (ssiem2026@confedent.fi) in your e-mail account.
If you have chosen to pay against invoice, you will receive a second e-mail once we have received your payment confirming your registration and all services booked.
Please check carefully that all of the services were booked correctly.
Abstract submitter registration
If you are submitting or have already submitted an abstract, please register via the Abstract submission portal (Presenter registration tab) to link your registration to your submission!

Payment methods
The preferred method of payment is payment online (by Visa, Mastercard or GooglePay) via our secure payment gateway. In the unlikely event of a rejected online credit card payment, please reach out to your card issuer or verify the available balance and any international transaction limits associated with your card before attempting the payment again. If there is a block, once this is removed it will be possible to pay via the online payment gateway.
You can also request an invoice and fill in your organization's invoicing information (organization name, invoicing address and invoice reference if required by your organization). Changes of invoicing details are possible after registration is submitted but may be subject to an additional fee of 19 €.
Invoices are sent in PDF format to the email of the participant registering. All information relevant to paying the invoice can be found in the PDF invoice.
Payment policy
Registration and the full payment of fees will be compulsory for attending any of the Symposium events.
Please make sure to pay your registration fee before the deadline for the selected registration type. An unpaid or only partially paid registration will not be considered as valid until it is fully paid.
Confirmation and Receipt
An automatic confirmation email of your registration submission will be sent to your email address both for registrations paid online and for registrations for which an invoice was requested. If you do not receive the automatic confirmation within 24 hours (also check your junk/spam emails), please contact us at ssiem2026@confedent.fi
A receipt of payment will be attached to the automatic confirmation for registrations paid online. For payments received by bank transfer (payments against invoice), a receipt will be attached to the confirmation sent after payment.
Cancellation policy
- Cancellation received by or on 4 July 2026: Full refund of the registration fee will be granted, deducting a handling fee of EUR 50
- Cancellation received after 4 July 2026: No refund of registration fee will be granted.
All requests for cancellations must be submitted in writing via email to the Symposium Secretariat at ssiem2026@confedent.fi.
Refunds
Refunds will not be issued in the event of no-show/non-attendance. If a participant’s visa application to Finland is denied, this does not qualify for a refund under any circumstances. Any bank charges incurred through the reimbursement of a cancelled participation will be charged to the participant.
The organizers are not liable for event cancellations resulting from force majeure circumstances, such as natural disasters, outbreaks of severe contagious epidemics, major strikes, or similar unforeseen events. In such situations, the organizing committee reserves the exclusive right to determine the policy regarding refunds of registration fees that have already been paid.
Insurance
The organizers are unable to assume responsibility for any personal injuries sustained, or for the loss of, or damage to, property belonging to participants or their accompanying guests, whether occurring during the Symposium or as a result of attendance. Please note that registration fees do not include any form of insurance coverage. We strongly recommend that all participants review the terms and coverage of their personal travel insurance to ensure it is valid and adequate for their needs during the event.
